The Durham Rowing Club is holding an open house and annual registration day on Saturday, April 26 from 10am to 2pm at the boathouse.
All are welcome to join us to discuss our wide variety of adult, youth, and adaptive rowing programs. Coaches, staff, and club members will be on hand to answer any questions.
The Durham Rowing Club offers Learn-To-Row and recreational rowing programs on Lake Scugog from it’s boathouse in Port Perry. The Learn-To-Row Program comprises eight 2-hour sessions.
In addition to teaching the techniques of modern sliding-seat rowing, the sessions also cover boat safety, rowing shell care and
coxing. Initial land orientation instruction is on a rowing fitness ergo meter and a specially designed dock-side trainer and is given on the Saturday morning preceding the first on the water training session. Learn more...
Safety/Coach Boat must be equipped and staffed, on the water, in the vicinity of the dock prior to any club shell being launched.
ROWONTARIO is recognized by the Ontario Ministry of Health Promotion as the not-for-profit governing body for rowing in the Province of Ontario. It is a volunteer-led organization consisting of 49 member clubs and some 6500 individual members.
RCA is a non-profit organization recognized by the Government of Canada and the Canadian Olympic Committee as the national governing body for the sport of rowing in Canada. RCA represents 15,000 registered members at all levels, novices, juniors, university students,seniors and masters, whether they row for recreation, health and fitness or competition. RCA is a member of the Canadian Olympic Committee and the Fédération Internationale des Sociétés d’Aviron (FISA), the international federation for rowing.
