Durham Rowing Club
Touring Program
Participation in the DRC Tour Program is restricted to members who are currently enrolled in other programs of the DRC and member clubs of Row Ontario or Rowing Canada. There is a reasonable degree of physical fitness required when one goes on one of these tours.

These tours are a source of great delight to those that go on them who often cherish the memories of the tour and the new friends that they met, as well as renewing old friendships from long ago. Not only are there overnight and longer tours there are day tours, especially in the North Central and Eastern Districts of Row Ontario.

The DRC normally sponsors two such tours, the Ice Breaker the first Saturday in May and the fall “Scugog Colours” the Saturday a week before the docks are taken out. Normally only the Hudson T-11s and T-7s are used on the tours.

Fees The Program fees for current rowing season are determined by the DRC Board of Directors each January to ensure sustainable rowing operations. Every attempt has been made to keep the individual tour fees as low as possible without the tour operating in a deficit position. Some tours may operate at a deficit but are deemed essential to our overall operations and are of benefit to the DRC and the sport of rowing so that all who wish may benefit from our sport.

It is customary for each member to cover their own registration expenses of going on the tour, as well a contributing to any cost transporting boats and equipment.

For further information fill out the contact us form and check out the rowing schedule.
